Ordinary Admission
3 different types of admissions are provide:
DIAGNOSTIC–THERAPEUTIC ADMISSION
Diagnostic–therapeutic admission shall be previously scheduled and booked.
The average length of stay is about 10 days in the Department of Intellectual Disability and about 5 days in the Department of Brain Aging.
As for the Department of Intellectual Disability, after the first admission, follow-up (with a shorter duration) can be planned, based on the indications by the multidisciplinary team, with the purpose of re-evaluating the patient’s clinical picture.
The admission request can be made directly by the patient, his/her family, the general practitioner or by a local social health service.
REHABILITATION
Rehabilitation treatments can be scheduled following the first diagnostic admission, when a multidisciplinary team develops a therapeutic-rehabilitation plan to be implemented in the rehabilitation treatment periods.
SURGERY
Surgery admission is only permitted to patients who have previously received a diagnosis of intellectual disability or brain aging. Minor surgical interventions are therefore performed after careful diagnostic evaluations that provides exhaustive clinical information about the cases undergoing surgery.
